Unit 3 Magazine

 Unit 3 Magazine

Magazine name: UK Snooker

What I like about the titles

Colours
In my opinion the colour choices shown in the titles above are using basic colours without making their magazine look too complicated, for example they have the colours red, white, and black, by doing this it creates a look on the magazine that gives it a vibe of  being available to all genders.
The colours I like the most from the magazine is the red used in the Rolling Stones magazine. This is because the colours bring that sense of royalty towards the magazine title, as the magazine does write about many popular musicians. The colour red does also stand out a lot in print products as it can stand out easily on the front cover of a magazine. However, using another primary colour like blue could work effectively with red as seen in the Snooker magazine.

Fonts

The fonts on my mood-board are mostly in a san serif. This is because the use of San Serif in bold is easy to view along with being very simplistic and easy to read. Most magazines would use San Serif as the font is not fancy, which would make the magazine look like it is available to all genders. I also believe San Serif would be great to use for a magazine for Snooker, as the main heading would be able to stand out and be viewable as the target audience for my magazine are people of all ages.
Overall I will be using San Serif as it keeps the magazine modern as we want to be bringing in the newer generations to the show.

Each campaign must avoid falling under ASA they should make sure the campaign follows the age rating they have made their content for. Also, if they are doing an advert, it must stay focused on what they are advertising along with trying not to offend anyone. For example, imitating homophobia, racism and hatred towards other religions. The advantages of the magazines is the bold writing. This is because the bold writing would be able to be seen from a distance to attract a larger audience, rather than having to walk really close towards it. Also, most of the magazines are bright in colour along with some being linked to the genre of the magazine. For example, the School Sport magazine has bright colours on the heading along with stands from the stadium that has been lightened up from the background. What these magazines have in common is the fact that the front covers all have big headlines. This is to show to an audience what the genre of the magazine is or who it is about. For example, the magazines that reference football in them don't particularly say football in their title. This can be shown om the School Sports magazine which could also indicate that it has more than one sports in the magazine. However, the Football transfers magazine is just for football. This would be for an audience who are interested in finding out new football transfers. Whereas the sports school magazine might bring a different range of an audience as it doesn't focus on football but other sports too.

These magazines will influence my ideas for the magazine I plan on doing, as the magazine I plan on doing is for my secondary school Wath academy which have a different verity of activities and sports. This will be very useful for my magazine as it will give me many options to write about on what I wan to put on my magazine. For example, the subjects, different sporting events and the wide range of music.
